Apples

Fall is one of our most popular seasons with over 20 varieties spread across 7 acres of pick your own orchards! The apple picking season starts in late August and goes through early November.   • Early Season (ripening Aug 15- Sept 5)

    Early Gold tart fresh eating, sauce and pies
    Gingergold wonderful fresh eating, good pie, crisp
    Zestar mild sweet flavor, fresh eating with a hint of strawberry
    Premier Honeycrisp just like the original Honey Crisp, except it ripens three weeks earlier
    Sansa small, sweet and crunchy. Very similar to a Gala. A great back to school/lunchbox option

    Mid Season (ripening Sept 5 - Sept 30)

    MacIntosh great eating fresh, pies, crisp, sauce
    Gala sweet, crisp eating
    Cortland great for everything, large, very white flesh
    Daybreak Fuji excellent flavor, fresh eating
    Honey Crisp very juicy, sweet and crunchy, fresh eating
    Macoun very crisp, great flavor, fresh eating
    Acey Mac tart and a pleasant flavor for fresh eating, much like a Macintosh

    Late Season (ripening Oct 1 -0ct 15)

    Snow Sweet a unique and sweet flavor profile with a bright white flesh that is slow to brown. Great for fresh eating and slicing.

    Empire beautiful color, keeps well, great fresh eating
    Jonagold fresh eating, great for pies, crisp, stores well
    Shizuka large and green apple, very similar to a Mutsu only with better flavor and not as tart
    Pink Lady tart, crunchy and super eye appealing with a pink blush over a yellow back ground
    Ida Red tart, great pie, sauce and cider apple, stores well
    Hampshire Mac large fruit and a good eater, stores well
    Golden Delicious wonderful sweet apples for fresh eating, holds shape well for baking, good pie and sauce
    Mutsu (Crispin) very large green apple, great fresh eating, holds shape well for baking, stores very well
    Northern Spy large, great fresh eating and all cooking, stores well

    Very late season (ripe after Oct 20)

    Sun Crisp tart and crisp, stores well
    Aztec Fuji red, excellent flavor, fresh eating and storage
    Granny Smith extra green, extra tart and extra hard! Stores well.
