Butternut Farm

We have several varieties of raspberries with the summer season running from early in July to about August 1 and the fall season going from mid August until a killing frost in October. Picking is open Tues-Sun 8am-4pm. Please call 335-4705 BEFORE coming for picking conditions.

Our raspberries are in the processes of being replanted. The current canes are producing wonderful fruit, however our rows are not full. Some of the canes have died over the last couple of years from flooding. New plants are in the ground and will be producing in 2008. As for 2007 we still have plenty of raspberries to offer.

EARLY SEASON

PRELUDE- medium size, excellent flavor, firm, easy to pick

REVEILLE- large, good flavor, bright red in color

MID-SEASON

KILLARNEY- medium in size, deep red, sweet, excellent quality, firm, great for pies and for freezing

LATE-SEASON

ROYALTY PURPLE- very large, high quality, sweetest of all purple berries, excellent for jams and jellies

TAYLOR- medium in size, long and firm, excellent flavor, great for freezing
